SPSA promotes and keeps strong social values and its urban ministry is devoted to the poor as well as diverse disenfranchised communities. Women serve prominently as lectors, altar servers, cantors, and Eucharistic ministers. All priests are present in most masses to greet and socialize with parishioners, with humor and kindness. Fr. Tom Gallagher's homilies are brilliant discussions of the readings, filled with exegetical discussions, social commentary, theological wisdom, and a deep understanding of faith, hope, and charity.
