St. John's Church is one of the oldest monuments of medieval architecture in Latvian. The church was built in the 13th century at the beginning of the Baltic kristianizācijas time, the needs of the Livonian Order, the Order of the residence was located in Cesis, the Cesis and developed into one of the most important German centers of power in the Baltic States from the 1237th to the 1561st year.
