Join your guide for a truly exclusive tour OF Kidney Island. During your launch trip out to Kidney Island you may see the majestic Black Browed Albatross flying effortlessly by or Peale's Dolphins swimming IN the bow wave OF the launch.

On Kidney Island you can experience the microcosm OF Falklands wildlife IN a totally unspoilt environment. Large numbers OF the Falklands endemic Cobb's Wrens as well as Tussac birds can be found amongst the boulders on the landing beach.

At the bases OF the tall mature tussac bogs, you will find a honeycomb OF burrows that are the homes OF thousands OF breeding pairs OF Sooty Shearwaters and White Chinned Petrels; Large rafts OF these birds can be found gathering offshore IN the late afternoon, ready for coming ashore to feed their young during the hours OF darkness.

On the northern coast, about 350 pairs OF Rockhopper Penguins and 100 pairs OF King Cormorants breed on the cliffs. You will want to keep a sharp eye out for the odd Macaroni Penguin that has bred amongst the Rockhoppers IN the last few years.

Some OF the other birds that breed on Kidney Island are the Short Eared Owl, Grass Wren, Black Crowned Night Heron and Black Chinned Siskin.

Southern Sea Lions can be seen playing IN the kelp or sleeping on the beaches.

It is essential that you wear warm, layered clothing IN order to fully enjoy and participate IN this excursion. Good walking shoes and waterproof clothing are also recommended. Be sure to wear sunscreen as the wind and sun can burn. There are no restrooms available on the trip so a stop before the journey is recommended. This is a strenuous tour with some steep climbs.
