Hotel regulations forbade outside food. Firstly, this was in no way enforced, to the detriment of those complying with the rule. Second, refreshments were not made available to the attendees until after the event started. This was a craft show, but we the numerous retailers could not bring in our own tea or coffee, and were provided nothing but water until lunch, which we could purchase from the hotel. The main grievance I had was with the buildings complete lack of accessibility. My partner is in a wheelchair; the entryway 'ramp' was blocked by a three inch cement raised edge. It was paved in small cobblestones, jostling her wheelchair every step of the way. And the grade of the incline is incredibly steep, no where near the 1 inch rise per 1 foot length required by building code. There was no handrail or guard, and the turn led to a sharp drop to ground level. A moments accident or loss of control would have sent her over the edge down a 4 foot drop to the ground. No amount of polished looks can replace safety.

Stayed for 4 nights. Nice room, close location to everything. Be aware, French is the primary language in Gatineau and may be a little difficult. Some people spoke good basic English however we found many that didn't speak any English at all.

This is the second Double Tree I've stayed in. Our stay was for 3 days, 2 nights. Hotel staff were friendly and welcoming. Usual warm cookies upon arrival. I booked a room with 2 double beds. The room was clean, spacious and decorated with modern furniture and decor. The hotel it self was only 10 to 15 minutes outside of down town Ottawa wich was great as we wanted to visit and see the sights without being right on the middle of the hustle and bustle. My only complaint was the beds could have been in better condition. The springs were a bit loud inside and could be felt while turning on the mattress. That's the only reason Double Tree by Hilton didn't get a 5 star rating, but would stay there on my next visit to Ottawa.

Its a nice looking place, but not a place I will come back to. There is no coffee in lobby, the rooms are large but dimly lit and the staff is not very attentive at all. There is a nice gym, but the hours are restricted so, if you are working a lot, it is tough to take advantage of it. There are better, more modern options on the other side of the river that cater better to business travelers.

Always great place to stay. Great rooms. The gym / pool area is better than most hotels I have been at. Friendly staff. Breakfast buffet is great.
