I've been reading conflicting advice about vaccines for Albania. The official travel health advisory from my country says yellow fever proof is required only if I'm arriving from an endemic region, but a travel nurse told me Albania requires it for all visitors. I'd hate to be turned away at the border because of a missing certificate. Beyond yellow fever, I see malaria prophylaxis recommended for rural parts of Albania – which medication is best? I'm allergic to doxycycline so malarone or chloroquine would be my options. Also, what's the hepatitis A and B situation for Albania? Is typhoid common? How far in advance should I start a clinic appointment? Really looking for first-hand experience from people who recently entered Albania.
